Dr. Rebecca ShoemakerWe are excited to announce the addition of Dr. Rebecca Shoemaker, fellowship trained interventional pain management physician, to our practice. Dr. Shoemaker specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation and interventional pain management. Her fellowship training in pain medicine provides her expertise in the treatment of: osteoarthritis of the joints including shoulders, hips, knees and spinal facet joints, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, sciatica, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), chronic migraine and peripheral neuropathy, among others. Dr. Shoemaker will begin seeing patients on June 11th at our Interventional Pain Management office in Newport News.

Joining HROSM’s growing practice of 12 physicians, Dr. Shoemaker will focus on easing suffering and improving the quality of life for those living with pain including chronic neck and low back pain. “I am excited to join the team of physicians and surgeons at HROSM,” says Dr. Shoemaker. “I look forward to helping patients throughout the community return to an active, pain free lifestyle.”

Dr. Rebecca Shoemaker earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University and obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Dr. Shoemaker completed her Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit Medical Center and returned to Virginia Commonwealth University to complete her Fellowship in Pain Medicine.
