Originally founded by Dr. Wieman Kretz, the first orthopaedic surgeon in the area, Hampton Roads Orthopaedics Spine & Sports Medicine continues to evolve to meet the demands of the ever-changing orthopaedic healthcare industry.

HROSM has an immediate opening for a full-time X-ray technologist at our Newport News location. Candidate must have a current license. The preferred candidate should have at least one year of prior experience. Includes excellent salary and benefits package.

PROVIDER RECRUITMENT

Position: Pain Management Provider
Location: Newport News & Suffolk, Virginia

Type: Full-time

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate pain management doctor to join our esteemed orthopaedic spine and sports medicine practice. You will provide a critical role within our practice to help our patients manage and alleviate chronic and acute pain, improving their quality of life and overall well-being. Your expertise in pain assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education will be essential in providing effective and comprehensive care to individuals suffering from various pain conditions.

Responsibilities:

Pain Assessment and Diagnosis:

●  Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess the nature, origin, and severity of their pain.

●  Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques, medical history analysis, physical examinations, and imaging studies to determine the underlying causes of pain.

Treatment Planning and Implementation:

●  Develop personalized pain management plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs, considering factors such as medical history, pain level, and individual preferences.

●  Employ a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating interventions such as medications, physical therapy, interventional procedures, behavioral therapies, and alternative modalities to provide holistic care.

●  Perform advanced pain management procedures, including nerve blocks, epidurals, radiofrequency ablation and spinal cord stimulation.

Medication Management: 

●  Prescribe and monitor medications, including opioids and non-opioid alternatives, in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.

●  Monitor patient response to medications, adjust dosages as needed, and educate patients on proper usage and potential side effects.

Patient Education and Counseling:

●  Educate patients on their pain conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies to enhance their understanding and active participation in their pain management journey.

●  Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, stress reduction techniques, and coping strategies to empower patients to effectively manage their pain.

Collaboration and Communication:

●  Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, and psychologists, to coordinate comprehensive care plans for patients.

●  Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and progress.

Research and Continuing Education:

● Stay current with the latest advancements in pain management techniques, treatments, and medical literature through ongoing professional development and attendance at conferences.

Compliance and Ethical Practices:

● Adhere to all relevant medical and ethical guidelines, including local and federal regulations related to pain management and controlled substances.

Qualifications:

●  Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school

●  Board certification or eligibility in pain medicine or related specialty

●  Valid medical license in the state of practice

●  Strong clinical skills in pain assessment, diagnosis, and treatment

●  Proficiency in performing interventional pain management procedures

●  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

●  Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care

Hampton Roads Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, in Newport News, Va., is currently searching for a Physician Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat patients in a clinical setting, surgery assist, office procedures and hospital rounds.
  • Expect to be busy and multitask for multiple locations and hospitals. Strong, surgical assist background required, preferably ortho related.
  • Utilize expertise to determine the most appropriate treatment options.
  • Document patient visits via computerized charting using our proprietary EMR.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for patients throughout the visit.
  • Must be able to be credentialed by associated hospitals for surgery.

Requirements:

  • Current Physician Assistant license for Virginia.
  • Appropriate certification Experienced surgical PA strongly preferred but will consider new grads with exceptional orthopedic training
