For over 50 years, the surgeons of Hampton Roads Orthopaedics Spine & Sports Medicine have been pioneers in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Aldridge is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon that has been specializing in Minimally Invasive Muscle Sparing Spinal Surgery and Total Joint Replacement Surgery in the Hampton Roads area since 2002. During his time in practice he continues to bring proven, new and cutting edge techniques for spinal surgery and total joint replacement of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow to the Hampton Roads Community. He was the first on the Peninsula to perform the Axialiff spinal surgery and the Zimmer Gender Specific Total knee replacement. In addition to his many interests in the field of orthopaedics, he also serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves.

Dr. Cavazos has been practicing medicine since 1986. He served twenty years in the Air Force, where he was the orthopaedic consultant for the European military theater. He was appointed Chief of Orthopaedic surgery at Langley Air Force Base, and retired in 1998, where he then joined HROSM. Dr. Cavazos specializes in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic surgery, and Minimally Invasive Total Joint Replacements. He is licensed by the States of Virginia and Texas to practice medicine and is board Certified in Orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Carter is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who joined HROSM in 1995. His special interest lie in Sports Medicine and Minimally Invasive Tissue Sparing Total Joint Replacements. Dr. Carter instructs nationally and internationally on total hip replacements using the muscle sparing anterior approach. He was the first orthopaedic surgeon to perform the direct anterior approach to hip replacement in Virginia. Dr. Carter is the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mary Immaculate Hospital and has been recognized by the Hampton Roads Magazine as a top 10 “Top Doc” in orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Swenson is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and has been practicing orthopaedic surgery on the Pennisula since 1991. Dr. Swenson specializes in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Joint Replacement Surgery of the Shoulder, Knee and Hip. Dr. Swenson travels the country to instruct other orthopaedic surgeons in joint replacement techniques. He has been recognized in the Hampton Roads Magazine in the Top Doctors Hall of Fame 2005-2009. Dr. Swenson has been recognized nationally as one of “America’s Top Orthopedists” in 2007 by the Consumers Research Council of America.
