Marc Forrest, New Director of HROSM Physical Therapy Center

Hampton Roads Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has announced the promotion of Marc Forrest, new Director of Physical Therapy. Marc has been providing orthopaedic physical therapy and sports medicine care to those in Hampton Roads since joining HROSM in 2002. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, and subsequently received his Master of Science degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. Marc has specialty training in sports medicine with an emphasis on baseball injury and treatment. He is Board Certified as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. OCS certification provides formal recognition to physical therapists with advanced knowledge and skills in orthopaedics.

Since joining HROSM in 2002, Marc has seen the practice grow exponentially. He has been a vital key to expanding the physical therapy department, and was one of the first 40 people to start working at HROSM. “Our practice has grown and expanded, to include more specialized physicians while still providing a holistic approach for all patients” says Forrest. “All of the physicians at HROSM have helped support the physical therapy department in every way possible and the addition of interventional pain management physicians, Drs. Jeremy Hoff, Kinjal Sohagia and Scott Bradley, has allowed a more holistic approach to how pain is being treated for patients” states Forrest.

It was Dr. Anthony Carter who helped guide Marc to practice at HROSM. Dr. Carter performed knee surgery on Marc in 1997 after a college rugby injury. The outstanding care that Dr. Carter and his team provided compelled Marc to pursue physical therapy with a focus in orthopaedics and eventually led him to practice here at HROSM.

Focusing on the future of the physical therapy department at HROSM, Marc continues to focus on high quality care for all patients. By using the latest inventions and techniques for evidence-based practice, Marc is excited to continue working with the outstanding team at HROSM to treat patients with the care they deserve.
